Virginia > Prince William County > Manassas > Occoquan Forest
The peaceful forested community of Occoquan Forest is located on a peninsula surrounded by the Occoquan Creek where the Bull Run River and Occoquan River meet.
Occoquan Forest features unique houses, which should be especially appealing to people who dislike cookie-cutter colonial style homes. These homes are surrounded by mature trees giving you a sense of peace and serenity. It is hard to believe that this sanctuary is only 30 miles away from Washington DC.
The community features five hiking trails that lead to the river, a community dock, boat ramp, canoe racks, picnic pavilion and benches, ball field, tot lot, fire pit, and more. The river is a reservoir that provides drinking water for Fairfax County and part of Prince William County. Although you are prohibited from swimming in the river, boating and fishing is allowed.
